FLAGSHIP CENTER FOR SUSTAINABLE PEACE
AND DEVELOPMENT WITH ITS PEACE ROOM CORE
Objectives
• To
develop and demonstrate the proof of concept of the
Sustainable Peace and Development program operating
system.
• To demonstrate the use
of cutting edge information technologies, and later to
be an incubator for upgrading hardware and
communications capabilities and software development for
the global system.
• To serve as the training
site for the first cadre of SPD and Peace Room peaceworkers.
• To
be a showcase for the potential of the global
Sustainable Peace and Development system.
Location
• We
envision several U.S. Flagship SPD host universities
linked by the C/UPP program to Flagship SPD hosts in the
Middle East, Europe, Africa, South Asia, East Asia, and
South America.
Support
Sought
• In
the United States, the Department of Defense, the
Military Services, Unified and Specified Commands and
other command war rooms will be requested to contribute
proven surplus hardware, software, display and
communications equipment. Similar
requests from their counterparts in other countries will
be made
• Under
the Corporate Partners in Peace (CPP) program, pro bono
hardware, software and consulting support will be
requested to establish and keep the SPD program state of
the art.
• The
Department of Defense, Military Services and private
corporations will be asked to loan personnel to assist
in the development of the SPD basic operating system and
to train student workers in the system and equipment
use.
• The
Department of Defense will be asked to declassify and
release worldwide database files used in the National
Military Command, Control, Communications and
Intelligence System and elsewhere that will be
supportive of the mission of the global Sustainable
Peace and Development system.
• Commercial fee-for-service sources capable of
providing imagery, maps, charts, Experts on Demand, and
a wide variety of analyzed open source intelligence will
be asked to provide pro bono input into the database of
the Flagship Sustainable Peace and Development program. This
will demonstrate the power of the use of commercially
available open source intelligence.
